In early May, in our school, there was a special kind of a competition. The students in grades 8 and 7 could experience something unique... They could become Maria Skłodowska - Curie or Albert Einstein for a while.
It was our chemistry teacher's idea to do something different with our students to learn more about Maria and Albert in a creative way. Their task was to take photos of themselves while wearing special outfits and special distinguishing elements that resemble the two great scientists.
Maria was a Polish scientist who discovered polonium and radium and was the Nobel Prize Winner in 1903 and in 1911. She was the first female winner so much successful!
Albert got the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. One of the most interesting and funny facts was that Einstein couldn't stand wearing socks, but he really enjoyed playing the violin! He seemed to be pretty good at it!
Well, there were many students from our school, who really looked like Maria and Albert in the photos! In our opinion, the funniest photo was this of Tomasz, grade 7b, with his creative paper moustache and his tongue out of his mouth:) Zosia and Marcel, both from grade 7b, were very creative too, and looked like the scientists. Our favourite female in the photos was Natalia, grade 7a, as Maria Skłodowska - Curie.
The competition was a great and, at the same time, funny expierence for our students. It showed their creativity as well as their sense of humour.
Congratulations, great job!
Natalia, Iza, Maja, grade 7b.
