On April, 13 - 17, our school celebrated Neurodiversity Week. This was a very special time to raise awareness about the fact that we are different, we feel different, we work and act in different ways.
During this great event, our school community had an opportunity to take part in a number of challenging activities that helped them understand the issue of neurodiversity.
Neurodiversity Week event was divided into some parts, each with various interesting theme. Day by day, we participated in some projects:" Who's like me?", "Learn the hard way", "We feel the same", "Let's play together!", "Offline and Relaxation Day". Their main aim was to draw our students' attention to different kinds of emotions, feelings and behaviours around them.
One day was pretty colourful. The students in classes 5 - 8 were wearing clothes in different colours to represent one particular feeling, e.g sadness, joy, happiness, anger. Younger pupils, on the other hand, took part in "Blue Games" where they could learn about the issue of autism and the issue of acceptance as well.
On Friday, as part of Offline and Relaxation Day, we could play board games, talk to friends, have some snacks and enjoy ourselves.
Neurodiversity Week was a special experience for our students, where both education and some fun went together!
We would like to say "Thanks a million!" to our support teachers! You did a great job! :))
