World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10 and its aim is to raise awareness about human mental condition as well as to promote a healthy mental lifestyle .
Every year a different subject for the action is chosen to draw special attention to some important problems related to emotional health. This time the theme for World Mental Health Day is ‘’Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophies and Emergencies”.
In our school we celebrated the day in a special way. In the school corridors we could see a lot of colourful posters with kind words and positive thoughts written by our students and our support teachers. Moreover, on the notice boards they presented some catchy slogans which help us understand we are not alone in an emotional crisis and believe that our emotions matter!
During the event we had a fantastic opportunity to share some good words with other students at school and, of course, with our families at home. Look, there are some of them!:
I’m brave. Every day is a good challenge. My feelings are important. I’m a special one.
The school action was a valuable experience for us. It helped us realize that if our emotions are down, we should always seek professional support because it can change our lives for better!
